The Massage Space aims to: - Provide nourishing Workshops and Treatments - Raise the awareness of Holistic Massage Save ~ Sustain ~ Blossom
About Massage Massage dates back to 3000 bc. It is an art, a science and a spiritual practise. At its most basic it is a development of our instinctive reaction to hold or rub an area that is in pain and has evolved over time into its current contemporary practise and can be used effectively to help with the stresses and challenges faced in our modern lives. Massage is useful for anyone who finds it difficult to rest or relax. It heightenes our awareness of how we relate to stressful situations and with regular massage we can learn how to manage our stress more effectively and make lasting lifestyle changes.
About me My journey with Holistic Massage began in 2008, a time when I was experiencing significant levels of stress. The effects of receiving a treatment, for me, were profound. I felt:
~ Cared for and relaxed in my body ~
~ Calmed of my mental chatter and more in the present moment ~
~ My inner spiritual flame was ignited, and I was able to access my innate wisdom ~
~ More connected within myself and wanted to connect to others ~ ~ Aware of my connection to mother nature and a deeper responsibility towards the wider natural world ~ I also felt very inspired and wanted to give back; and thus my studies, in the art of massage, began.
With a background in Contemporary Dance, I have been equally inspired by Western and Eastern approaches to the body and have trained in a number of different massage disciplines both here in the UK and at the Lahu Tribal Village, Northern Thailand.
For the past 9 years I have been offering treatments in a variety of different settings, from peoples homes to community/retreat centres and even at (my current favourite!) alternative woodland hen parties.
Passionate about movement as a tool for awareness and communication, I am interested in researching its effects when applied to the body through touch.
I am very proud to be offering massage treatments from the beautiful Ola Centre in Totnes, Devon and Introductory Workshops throughout the UK. I would like to empower more people through massage and hopefully sow the seed of massage, in a new generation of practitioners.
